Web Analytics Specialist

Summary

Our ideal candidate has a combination of strong analytical capabilities, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a basic understanding of technical implementation of web analytics software. We’re looking for someone with innate ability to conduct analysis, provide answers to key business questions and help solve problems.

An individual in this role will work closely on various client teams to perform analysis, build reports, deliver key insights, provide ongoing testing and optimization support, and collaborate on analytics implementation. The web analytics specialist will also help participate in analytics training, help evangelize analytics throughout the organization and help develop and grow our analytics practice and capabilities.

Responsibilities  

Solution Development & Delivery  

• Assist in the development analytics strategies that best provide key measures of success and demonstrate value to clients.
• Design and develop reports as defined in the analytics strategy or as defined by client needs.
• Perform ongoing analysis for various clients and provide key insights and recommendations.
• Manage testing and optimization for various clients, including the development of test scripts, test prioritization, test execution and reporting of results.
• Assist with analytics training at the team, organizational and client levels.
• Assist in the nurturing and improvement of the analytics practice
• Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
• Continuously educate self around analytics specialties and stay up to date with industry trends.
• Contribute to thought leadership efforts in support of the analytics practice.
• Collaborate with Design/UX and Developers project team members to ensure best analytics implementations.

Technical Management  

• Communicate analytics strategy as an input into the analytics implementation requirements.
• Ensure analytics implementation follows best practices and standards.
• Participate in QA activities to ensure data integrity.
• Participate in ongoing data quality monitoring and management.

Experience  

• 2-3 years performing web analytics duties websites, with particular focus on conversion strategies
• Strong experience using Google Analytics. Experience with Adobe SiteCatalyst and ClickTale and other analytics platforms a plus.
• General understanding of tag management.
• Experience in aligning reporting and analysis with business strategy.
• General understanding of analytics implementation at the page/code level.
• Ability to set up and configure custom variables, goals, segments and other configuration types in GA.
• Experience in performing deep-level analysis across multiple data sources and providing key insights and recommendations. Possess ability to effectively communicate across all organizational levels.
• Ability to create reports across a variety of formats including Excel and online/interactive dashboards.
• Experience in dashboard/data visualization products.
• 1+ years’ experience with testing & optimization, using tools like Optimizely (preferred), Adobe Target, Google Experiments or others. Must have intimate knowledge of split testing and multivariate testing with ability to manage testing programs, including writing test plans/scripts, configuring/implementing tests, maintaining test integrity and communicating results.
• Experience with mobile app analytics tools and best practices.

Education & Certifications  

• BS/MS degree in statistics, marketing, BIT, or related degree
• Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, Testing/Optimization Software (all preferred but not required)
